Brat Build: Day 3

I managed to get some build time on the Brat last night. All the electronics are in (battery is on charge) and the wheels went on so now it looks more like a car.
This weekend I shall mostly be painting one of the bodies for the car. It came with a polycarb body for racing (or crashing - which seems more likely) and a more detailed plastic body for Sunday driving.
Anne is off to watch England struggle against Israel tomorrow with her Dad so I have a free pass. I had thought I would go to the Forest of Dean to ride but now that my real car is sick that plan has been scuppered. I guess it’s Cleeve hill for me then…
I see they don’t use servos for the speed controller anymore. that’s good.
is there a big ass ceramic resistor anywhere? Mine has a massive one which gets hellahot after a couple of mins.
September 7th, 2007 at 8:50 amYeah, you can buy the kits with an Electronic Speed Controller for a little bit more cash but it seems like a much better idea. I’m not sure if it give you full, graduated speed control (as opposed to the 2-speeds forwards and backwards) but once I have all the batteries sorted I’ll find out…
I remember having that big ceramic resistor on my Bear Hawk back in the day. There isn’t one on this car - I’m hoping that doesn’t mean that other parts get red hot and turn the car into a ball of flame.

Is there are Chain reaction Cycles for this sort of thing?
