Awesome Weekend
Yay - this weekend I didn’t have to work. Yep, three whole days without staring at a computer screen! I managed to have two post 10am lie-ins (I can’t remember tha last time I slept past 8am) and feel great as a result.
Met up with Chris, TJ (I haven’t seen or heard from since 2005) and Mr TJ (Pete) on Friday night for a lovely meal at Kandinsky’s but drank far too much red wine. Headache.
I also got to see United chalk up their first win of the season (at last) and it was made even sweeter by the fact that I was watching with my mate Oli who supports Spurs!
Monday saw me up at 7:30am to go for a quick spin on the bike before heading to my folks’ place for a family get-together. The ride was great - lovely weather and hardly anyone about. Was slightly ruined by the fact my bike has developed a nasty creak which I think is coming from the swingarm pivot - I guess I’ll be stripping that down soon then. I wanted to keep riding for a few hours but had to get back. Still, my mum did fill me up with yummy food when we arrived at their house.
All in all a relaxing and fun weekend.

Glad you got to have fun. We all need some fun every now and again. Your bike seat looks reallly high!
August 28th, 2007 at 11:50 amMy bike seat is pretty high but that’s how it’s supposed to be. I’m amazed at the number of people I see on bike with the saddle too low.
August 28th, 2007 at 12:00 pmCause its bloody hard work getting your rear up to said height when its rather large :p
August 28th, 2007 at 3:03 pmHey man - your words, not mine…
August 29th, 2007 at 6:00 amEven I managed to have a ride at the weekend. We went over to pedalabikeaway. They’d given out all their bikes so I ended up with a brand new £1000 diamondbak (or something like that).
I still rode like a poof though.
August 29th, 2007 at 11:57 amOMG! Mr Jones on a bicycle! Glad to hear that your riding style is no different to your walking/running/golfing/drinking/breathing style.
August 29th, 2007 at 12:01 pmHi Owen,
Glad to hear you’ve got out on the bike in the good weather. I finally got my new bike - got 200 metres on the North Face trail in the Lake District and a new pair of Fox forks exploded with air and oil pouring all over the trail - hhhmmmmm - so - no riding for me during the good weather as bike returned to shop (not pleased!).
Give me a shout if you fancy hitting the hills at some point soon (have just got bike back with replacement fork parts installed).
August 29th, 2007 at 8:47 pmMate - that sucks! We should ride soon. I may be out this weekend - interested?
August 30th, 2007 at 11:14 amHi mate,
That could be good but it would have to be Sunday at somepoint probably.
Give me a shout on the mobile when you know your plans.
