All Partied Out

Last Friday I headed up to Pittville Campus to check out the Graduating Student Exhibition. The main reason for this is the fact that my good friend Mudiwa has come to the end of her Graphic Design degree and so her work is on display. It was a distinctly odd experience as I I studied there about 7 years ago so I felt kinda awkward going back there.

There was a few really good pieces of art on display but a lot that just made me want to say “Get over yourself”! Does that make me a heathen? It just felt like much of it had been created to fill certain criteria than to express what the artist was actually feeling and, to be fair, it probably was!

Anyway, after that we headed back to Kate’s place to enjoy a glass or three of vino. Much laughter ensued and I rolled into bed at 1:15am.

The next day there was an afternoon of Wii and bacon sarnies planned before heading off to Brizzle to celebrate Laura’s birthday. Now, Paul (the husband - hers, not mine) had told us it was to be a TV game show party so we duly made ourselves some Blockbuster theme shirts to spell out Laura’s name. We arrive to find that the theme is no longer relevant and we just look like a bunch of nutters who are really into Blockbusters. Ah well. We had a great night, coming third in the quiz and then boogying until the wee small hours. I finally get to bed at 3am and wake up and around 7am. Great.

I'll have an L-A-U-R-A please Bob

So I’m pretty knackered right now. However, the sun is shining so I shall enjoy the ride home tonight!
