Dream Client

Hi, I’m looking to have a website built selling [INSERT PRODUCT HERE]. I have a background in IT so thought that what I would do is to built an HTML template and then let you have that to do the design work. Then I thought that might not work and I would prefer to do the design work anyway. So I designed my site and now I’m just looking for someone to take that design and turn it into a web page.

To be honest the design is complete so you wouldn’t need to change anything. I can let you have the original PowerPoint file to work from. Yeah, so it’s just creating a web page from that PowerPoint and then being able to sell stuff. I have had other quotes for this that are around the £500 mark so I expect that would be what you would charge too right?

Do you mean a client that’s dreaming?

Is this a dream that you have had, or a person in your office right there, right now?

It was a phone call I had.

I forgot to mention the classic line (after he had told me he had a background in IT):

In terms of a shopping cart we could just use an off-the-shelf one like PHP - I’ve heard that’s a good one.

I tried to explain the concept of PHP as an open source alternative to ASP but got a “Riiiiiiiiiight” in reply.
