Hogging the Lime Light

Trek (purveyors of fine bikes) have released a crazy three-speed, automatic-shifting city bike type thing called the Lime. It looks odd and sounds odd but is, according to Trek, easy to ride.

Sounds crazy eh? Check out the Lime site for more detail (it’s all Flash though so if you don’t have it, don’t bother clicking).

I like the idea of the Lime, ISTR other companies are involved in some kind of thingy of companues where they get together and do all similar products but share the core technology - yes I wrote it out as I can;t recall the name of such an organisation of separate groups.

i like the idea, but I think it would only really work in a bikecentric environment, such as Portland in the USA, which is mega bikecentric and places like Holland, the UK, no one cares enough… unfortunately

Is it sad that we did exactly the same thing as each other?

  6. Olly Says:

Not as sad as me downloading two of them and shopping them together to form a massive wallpaper to run across my two monitors…

What’s the pricetag on one of these. The fancy schmancy treks always intimidated me but I didn’t want to get a crap bike that would hurt my butt. so I didn’t get anything. This looks doable though!

    According to google,…

The retail price for the Lime is $579USD and the retail price for the Lime Lite is $499USD.

You can probably swap the $ for a £ or € though :(
