Happy Birthday Dad
Today is my Dad’s birthday (which Adobe are celebrating by launching CS3) so let’s all wish him a happy birthday…
Happy Birthday Dad/David/Mr Clay*
To celebrate this momentous occasion Mum and Dad paid us a visit on Saturday and we all hopped on the GWR steam train that runs from Cheltenham Racecourse to Toddington.
Now, I expected this to be a nice day out but didn’t really expect to get too excited about travelling by steam train. How wrong I was. Steam trains rock (I know I am at risk of sounding like a train spotter but I don’t care) - maybe it’s my own advancing years but there is something very pleasing about these beasts. Maybe it’s the fact that all the mechanical bits are where you can see them. Wahtever it is, they are cool!
Unfortunately the weather was a little on the grey and cold side but we still managed to stroll around Toddington, have a meal in the local pub, buy some gardening supplies in the garden centre (man, now I really do sound old) and then hop back on the train.
It was a great day out and I recommend it. If you have kids they may be interested in the Thomas the Tank Engine days that are also run a couple of times a year - check out the GWR website for more details.

Owen you are totally in JT’s train club - if you were worried about feeling old, there is a model railway running round our bedroom and JT had a train birthday party himself!! So you are still a few months younger than him…
