The Week That Was
Blimey, it's been ages since I wrote anything on here. What's the score then? Well, two weekends ago we went to Centre Parcs with a bunch of friends which was pretty cool. It's kind of like the great outdoors for people who don't really do the great outdoors. It's almost a cross between a theme park and a forest but with lots of activities like archery and cycling. Everything is so flinkin' expensive there though so we stuck to doing cheap things like badminton, swimming and cycling. Really, it was just about spending a weekend away with friends and getting to know people better. I also made a new cycling buddy in the form of Cookey who rides an old school steel Orange.
Last week was mad on the work front - I worked pretty much 11 or 12 hours every day due to demanding clients. It feels nice to be chilling out a bit this morning. I have spent some time cleaning the office and catching up on the blogosphere. I have a new person joining me in the office today. For those that don't know I have my office free of charge from one of my clients and it is his partner that is moving in with me. She's going to be responsible for the marketing side of things for his company so I shall be dealing directly with her on a regular basis. Hopefully she won't be a proponent of the third key lie. I drove to work all last week because I was feeling slack, knackered and lazy.
Anne is hoping to leave her job on Friday before going contracting. It will be so good when she is finally free of Crapita as they have proven themselves to be rubbish at every turn of the time she has been there. I think she is hoping to get away for a week or so to kind of chill and forget about work before restarting somewhere new. It's pretty exciting for both of us.
This weekend has been spent watching a good deal of season 2 of Lost to prepare us for the new season starting on proper telly. It has been so good to mong out all weekend, especially after my plans for a Sunday ride all fell through. On Sunday morning we went to the racecourse for the Trinity monthly extravaganza. Trinity is the biggest church in the 'Nam with over a thousand members which means that they have to have four services on a Sunday as their building isn't big enough, hence the monthly meeting at the racecourse for everyone. With this in mind they have had an offer accepted on the recently closed Odeon in the centre of town. They are going to turn it into a brand new venue for Cheltenham as well as a church building. Maybe they'll fit comfortable seating in there for the first time in its history. It's pretty cool to see them being so outward looking and hoping to impact the community around them.
I should also mention that my very good and quite old friend Joe (and his wife Emma) became parents to a bouncing baby girl called Katy about a month ago. Joe - I will ring you soon. Life has been mental recently.
I rode to work this morning and now I hurt. I really wish my aging body would get with the programme and start retaining fitness.
I know what you mean about not writing.. its hard when life interferes.. dammit..
I’ve been wanting to go to a centre parc.. just haven’t yet. I think out next trip will be to prague around the holidays. At least that’s the plan!

I guess workload is a downside at times but the end product keeps you going, your stuff always turns out good.
Keep up the blogging though eh, I need something to keep me interested in my mundane office job :p

November 20th, 2006 at 11:59 pmSimon - cheers for the kind words. I am trying to work out a business plan so I can expand but it’s just trying to find a balance between work and other (more fun) stuff.
Olly - Stop ruining my life.
