Polite Request

Just sent to Cheltenham Borough Council. I’m sure it'll have no effect at all.

Request for Road Resurfacing

Dear CBC

Please can you resurface our road (Market Street) as it resembles more a farm track than an actual tarmac road. We have plenty of pot-holes and at least one manhole that sits about 2 inches proud of the road's surface. Driving down it is horrendous and almost everyone who visits us comments on it.

If I need to contact someone in particular to talk about this, please could you let me know who.

Other than that, keep up the sterling work!

Cheers

Owen Clay

To add insult to injury, they have just resurfaced the road that NaiT and JT live on even though it was fine. They even tarmacced around someone's car!

Come and fix our road Mr Council Man!

You seem to be mistakedly thinking the council has some inteligence amongst its ranks. Why re-surafce a tricky bumpy road when there are nice easier smoother ones to do :-p

  2. matt Says:

They’re resurfacing the smooth roads around here at the moment, I expect they didn’t have the requisite number of holes in them so they’ve had to re-lay them using their new pothole-o-matic machine.

    Bloomin’ councils eh?

  4. Nai T Says:

Sorry!! I reckon they’ve got surplus money so they are trying to look good by doing easy work. There’s some re-surfacing around St Paul’s too… :-s xx

    I agree with SImon.
They did nothing about the seagulls in the summer - even went so far as to tell me that they are now a fact of life and that ‘we’ just have to live with it. ggrrrrr

They seem to be doing the ‘quick wins’.

    Dear Mr Clay

Thank you for your REPORT IT no. 2970.

Arrangements have now been made to carry out a safety inspection of Market Street.

Market Street is on the list of roads to be investigated for major surfacing works in financial year 2007/8. Roads on this list are prioritised taking into account general condition, amount of use, maintenance attention and shape.

Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.

    “maintenance attention and shape.”

    Report: It’s road shaped

Again as above, if the road is bumpy then thats like way too much effort. At least they replied, you never know come 2008 they might look at the road and put it on a list to be done in 2020 :-p

  9. Sean Says:

Matt: I think thats the problem, it doesn’t so much resemble a road, as it does a boost: Rippled with a flat underside.
