Feeling Glum

Yesterday I was feeling glum. I think it’s due to the fact that I hadn't really been out of the house this week, my planned office move still hasn’t materialised, next week our lodger Nae is leaving to go live in Canada while at the same time our friends Paul and Laura are leaving the ‘Nam to go and live in Brizzle.
Feeling a bit blue I decided to go out for a quick blast on the bike to blow away the cobwebs. Once I was in the saddle my brain slipped into some kind of odd zonal mode that meant I pushed far harder than usual on the Leckhampton Loop. I only rested twice and felt pretty pleased with myself. I came down an old-school route from the top, heading from the Devil's Chimney along the base of the quarry and straight down to the ruins (man, that is much steeper than I remember!)
It was just what the doctor ordered and I felt ready for the party in the evening to say farewell to Nae, Paul and Laura (one of those events where you only know a few people and evryone else knows each other). I'm now about to go out for a slightly more sedate ride with Anne and SBG which will hopefully help to lift my mood a bit further.
I must be getting old, change is beginning to freak me out.
