Steve’s First International

I thought Brunei had already played an international but apparently not. They won their first ever international but lost the next two, mainly because their star player was in hospital with concussion - poor little Steve!

But Brunei fought back, using their pack to move methodically down the field. Captain Steve Lai capped off a fine drive with bull like effort, scoring off a penalty from 10 meters out by carrying three Cambodian players on his back to the line.

Doesn’t sound like the Steve I know! Read more on the IRB site here, here and here.

All we need now is picture or video evidence of that try. I think the Brunei rugby team needs a website, get on it Mr Clay :-p

The tournament ended with a dinner reception held at the Inter-Continental Hotel in Phnom Penh and Brunei’s team captain Steven Lai emerged as the “Best Player” for the Brunei team.

Nice one Steve, now see if you can line up a game against England.
