We're Off To See The Wizard (almost)
Only 11 days until Anne, Olly and I head off for our Australia and Brunei adventure. I'm getting very excited. I preparation I bought a Sigma 10-20mm lens so I can take lots of lovely panoramic shots. Apparently high street Jessops stores won't match online Jessops prices (or so the chap on the phone told me) so they missed out on my cash. Idiots.
Joe, Emma and Bump came to stay over the Bank Holiday weekend (which didn't include any bike theft this time) which was good. Joe and I spent far too long playing Conflict Desert Storm II and as a result the weekend wasn't quite as refreshing as I'd hoped. I also didn't realise quite how limiting being pregnant can be in terms of all the stuff that you have to stop eating and doing. I think it would drive me mad if I had to go through that. Thankfully, Junior was only a (very bad) movie and not fact.
Still no sign of the pedals. I think I'll give the shop a call.
Off to Redditch for a meeting later which will hopefully result in a nice new piece of work.
Are you off to see the great Fro’ man himself? I’d hardly call him a Wizard :-p
Oh and im not in the slightest bit jealous of your trip what so ever, nope not at all, not one teeny tiny little bit at all nope, not at all… damn you!
May 3rd, 2006 at 10:57 amOooh, you lucky sod, have fun! Let me know how you get on with the 10-20 lens, been looking to get one myself.
May 3rd, 2006 at 11:34 amAs a tip, Jessops will never confirm they can match online prices.
May 3rd, 2006 at 11:35 amWhat you can do though is bring a print of a web page with the item you want to buy and ask them at the counter if they can match it.
I managed to reduce the price of a small Canon 4MP by £30 that way.
Their offer was £10 more than the online price.
That’s going to be so much fun! Send me a postcard!
May 3rd, 2006 at 4:49 pmSimonP - We are indeed visiting the Fro Man himself. He’s made the mistake of getting engaged so we are off to stop him from getting married (or something).
SimonB - Hopefully the lens will arrive today or tomorrow so expect some test shots up here soon. Once we are back from Oz/Brunei I’ll chuck up some holiday pics too.
Daniel - Stuff ‘em. I was in no hurry so figured why even try to haggle?
Sara - Send me your address and I’ll do my best! However, be aware that I haven’t sent a post card from my holidays in about 6 years. The last one was to my wife!
