Back, and to the Left
Forty Two years ago today, US President John F Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. He was cruising along in his open-topped car, waving to the crowds, when he was hit by a rifle bullet and killed. According to new reports, he collapsed into Jackie Kennedy's arms and she was heard to cry "Oh no" which strikes me as a bit of an understatement.
Lee Harvey Oswald was identified as the murder suspect but he was killed before he ever got to court (nice one Jack Ruby) so we'll never know if he really did it or not. It certainly seems unlikely that one magic bullet could cause seven injuries in two different men.
Despite Kevin Costner's protestations, it is possible for something to be shot and and to move in the direction that the bullet came from (it's known as the Jet Effect) so JFK could have been shot by LHO.
For more info check out the Kennedy Assassination website which is full of interesting stuff or watch JFK which is slightly more biased.
Oh, Michael Hutchence, INXS front man, was found dead in his hotel room 8 years ago today too.
What a cheery post this has been.
It was the evil kitten on the greasy knoll.
