At Last, Weon.co.uk Gets Some Style
As you can see, I have finally re-styled www.weon.co.uk. It's not quite finished yet but it is close. If you come across something on your travels that looks a little squiffy, let me know and I’ll try to fix it ASAP.
Hope you like it!
Blimey… there was I expecting the normal blue and this pops up, thought I had the wrong site :-p
Very nice
glad you’ve finally got your arse in gear and got it sorted.
Noticed the text “Weon is otherwise known as Owen…” etc… is still in white so you cant see it, also it might be overlaping the edges. And the by genre links numbers (eg (2)) are white as well and thus tricky to see.
October 18th, 2005 at 3:05 pmOh and there is no link back to the main page.
October 18th, 2005 at 3:06 pmBlue links on black background at the bottom are impossible to read.
October 18th, 2005 at 3:18 pmSimon - all those are on my 'To Fix' list already but cheers anyway.
Pete - Oh yeah! It's only the footer so I'm not overly concerned but I shall fix it anyway, but only because you mentioned it!
October 18th, 2005 at 4:05 pmRight. I've fixed most of the little errors mentioned above. I have noticed that in Opera 7 & 8 there is a tiny bug. Tiny meaning that none of the page content displays at all. It is in the source but not on the screen. Great. Even IE5Mac works!
October 18th, 2005 at 5:36 pmyeah what kind of designer keeps the factory-shipped template. Its about time!! Unlike Pete, I can see the blue links actually. they look nice to me.
Well done chap!
October 18th, 2005 at 5:45 pmHa Ha! I’ve just worked out what the bug was in Opera. I had use an open SPAN tag instead of a close SPAN tag, thus hiding everything that came after it.
I R Genius.
Sara - I shall ignore that sleight at my designeryness but only because you opened my eyes to the wonder of My Name Is Earl.
October 18th, 2005 at 6:03 pmLove the new design. Couple of questions though:
1) Where did you get the TRON outfits you and Anne are wearing while posing for the picture in the main banner, and have you managed to reach the frisbee you seem have misplaced just out of reach. I have a steppladder you can borrow if you need it. Perhaps more throwing practice would help prevent this in the future.
2) Which are Opera are you referring to? I have heard of a barber and a phantom but never a bug. Is it perhaps a flea one of the cats in the musical CATS?
3) Is a SPAN tag like the ones on the top of tins of SPAM? If so, be careful, they can be dangerous (I have a scar to prove it!)
4) I can’t quite read the white writing on a black background in the bottom right hand corner of the main banner. I think that the lights you have used to illuminate the billboard are perhaps a little too bright. Maybe another SPAM tag or perhaps one of the little keys you get on corned beef cans would be of use? I have some spare ‘tags’ on the lids from my dog food if you get really desperate.
I hope I have been able to help you with this re-design.
October 19th, 2005 at 10:23 amLet me know if you need any help with your household decortation/dress sense/music.
Joe - Anne and I have now bought a new Aerobie to replace the frisbee that was lost in the photographing of the image. I was gutted because it had been in my family since the time of Oliver Crumble but hey-ho, life goes on.
The writing on the poster doesn’t actually say anything. It is merely a miniturised version of the Bayeux Tapestry that has been digitised on converted to black and white. If you view it using the new Microsoft Bayeux Plugin, it reveals almost all of the secrets of the universe before crashing and forcing you to reboot.
Steven Hawkwind is gutted as he was hoping to write an even shorter history of time based on his use of this plugin.
October 19th, 2005 at 10:58 amDo you fight crime?
October 19th, 2005 at 11:27 pmYes.
October 20th, 2005 at 9:47 amWhy?
October 20th, 2005 at 1:46 pmBecause crime sucks
October 20th, 2005 at 2:03 pmOK.. But then you have obviously never robbed a Royal Mail train of its payroll money and fled justice to live in Sth America to flout the extradition laws.. Only to suffer from heart troubles and then surrender to the authorities to return to the UK, free of charge, 30 years later to receive treatment free on the NHS!!!!
So there.
