The World Is iPod Mad

Chat RoomsNow, I know the iPod is lovely. It started a revolution in hard-drive MP3 players and nothing really touches it in terms of sheer cool. Before anyone says anything, I am well aware that Sony's HD range make more sense from a practical point of view, but like the cool wall on Top Gear, it doesn't matter how good something is if it hasn't got that certain je ne sais pas.

However, it does seem that, as with all things cool, the iPod is now very common. Whilst this has (marginally) lessened it's appeal to me, it does mean that businesses everywhere are creating iPod Compatible products. For example, Mercedes now offer an iPod kit as an option on new cars.

The latest offering from Denon is the most impressive so far though - a home AV system that will link up to your iPod and allow you to control it using the Denon’s remote control. On your TV screen you get a virtual iPod that has the familiar menus you can scroll through. While connected, your iPod will even be recharged. You need never pick up another CD again. The price for all this wonder? £850. Bargain. Will I be buying one? Well, I need an iPod first (feel free to buy me one).

I knew you wouldn’t be able to resist! I don’t think I would be able to use the Apple ‘phones due to my large ears - the headphones would just keep falling out.

£850 isn’t just the lead though, you do get a full on home cinema system!
